The online application platform is open from Monday 12 June 2023 https://exoikonomo2023.gov.gr of the ExoEconomy 2023 programme, which will remain open until Friday 15 September 2023.

The new Programme is part of the flagship actions funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund and the RePower , with a total budget of €300 million. EUR 60 million of which EUR 60 million will be allocated to euro exclusively for vulnerable households , with the aim of fighting energy poverty.

The target of ExoEconomy 2023

The aim of ExoEconomy 2023 is the mandatory upgrade of at least three energy categories for each house that will be included, in order to ensure primary energy savings of more than 30%.

The houses selected for inclusion in the Programme must meet the following requirements:

• To exist legally.
• Not to have been declared demolishable.
• To be used as main residences.
• Be classified on the basis of the First Energy Performance Certificate (A' EPC) in a category lower or equal to C.
• Not be eligible using short-term rentals (Airbnb type).

Once the application for inclusion in the Programme is deemed "Eligible in Principle", the following is required for the issuance and submission to the Programme of the Electronic Building Identity Card .

The interventions

The interventions considered eligible are:

• Replacement of frames.
• Installation/Upgrade of thermal insulation.
• Heating/cooling system upgrade.
• Hot water system (DHW) using Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
• Other energy-saving interventions (installation of smart home management systems, smart electrical load management systems, smart heating/cooling control systems, smart remote control and monitoring systems).

Conditions for the inclusion of beneficiaries in the programme

• Natural persons who have a right in rem (full ownership / usufruct / small ownership) in an eligible residence are eligible to participate in the Programme, while potential beneficiaries of the Home Improvement Programme cannot apply.
• Only one application may be submitted for each eligible natural person.
• A home with an active application to any of the Energy Upgrade Programs, Exoikonomisi kath' Oikon II, ExoEconomy - Autonomo, ExoEconomo 2021 and ExoEconomy - Renovate for Youth, is not eligible to apply to this Program.
