EU: €430 million in support for the agricultural sector

Η European Commission proposes to mobilise additional EU financial support for the EU agricultural sector affected by:

  • adverse climatic events,
  • the high cost of inputs; and
  • various market and trade-related issues

The new package of measures to support the agricultural sector includes €330 million in support for the agricultural sector. euro for 22 Member States. In addition, Member States shall approved a package of support measures worth €100 million euros for farmers in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, which was proposed on 3 May. Several other measures, such as the possibility of higher advance payments, are expected to support farmers affected by adverse weather events.

EU farmers. from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Cyprus, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Finland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden will receive this exceptional support of €330 million. from the Common Agricultural Policy budget. Countries can supplement up to 200% of this EU support with national funds. Member States had communicated to the Commission assessments of the difficulties faced by their individual agricultural sectors. The measure will be voted on by Member States at a forthcoming meeting of the Committee on the Common Organisation of Agricultural Markets.
