It is about 31,549 applications, which were submitted until November 15, 2023 (deadline for submission of membership). Due to the high interest from households, the initial budget of the program is increased to 422,105,074 euros (from 300,000,000 euro). Amount, which covers the totality of applications submitted and included, initially, in it.

“Save 2023”, which is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund, sets as its main objective the promotion of national and EU energy policy for saving energy. This is done through upgrading the energy class of households, by at least 3 energy categories (over 30% primary energy savings), notes the Ministry of the Interior.

Theodoros Skylakakis, Minister of Environment and Energy

«We are increasing the Save 2023 budget by around 40%, as there was extremely high interest from households in participating in the program. Utilizing available resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund we cover the totality of the applications that were submitted. At the same time, we are launching corresponding initiatives – aimed at reducing energy costs – and for businesses, through an energy saving program, which is about to open for submission of applications in the coming period“.

Alexandra Sdoukou, deputy minister of environment and energy

“Responding to the significant interest of Greek households in their participation in the “Save 2023” program, we decided to include all the proposals submitted, always with the conditions set by the program. In this way, we continue to support the Greek family in our joint effort to reduce energy costs, which is achieved through energy upgrading and saving energy“.
