Save 2021:  Extension to completion deadline

Extends, until July 21, 2024, the deadline for the completion of work for the submitted applications of the program: “Excoionamo 2021”, whose relevant deadline expires on June 15, 2024.

The extension concerns 4,313 households, in total. The Ministry of Environment and Energy is taking this initiative, with the aim of facilitating the work of both the Energy Inspectors and the beneficiaries to smoothly complete the work energy upgrade of their residence.

The “Save 2021” program is financed by resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

It is reminded that there was a two-month extension for the implementation of projects.

The rationale was that in this way, beneficiaries would have 14 months, in total, from the date of issuance of their eligibility decision for the completion of projects, from 12 months that was initially foreseen.

It is clarified that, despite the extension of the implementation period, the final date for the completion of the physical and financial object of the works had remained unchanged at June 30, 2025. This date was also the final limit for the eligibility of submitted expenditures under the program.

The Program

The Save 2021 Program is the successor scheme of the Home Savings and Separate Autonomy programs.

The design of the Program takes into account the integrated approach of energy saving interventions in the domestic building sector and aims to:

  • reducing the energy needs of buildings and pollutant emissions that contribute to the worsening of the greenhouse effect
  • saving costs for citizens, improving daily living conditions and comfort as well as the safety and health of citizens when using these buildings
  • achieving a cleaner environment

Eligible Expenses

The interventions, which are submitted with the application for inclusion in the Program, arise based on the recommendations of the Energy Inspector. They refer exclusively to the following categories of eligible interventions:

1.Replacement of frames
2.Installation/upgrade of thermal insulation
3.Upgrade of heating/cooling system
4.ZNX system using Renewable Energy Sources (RES)
5.Other Saving Interventions (smart home, lighting upgrade).
