Adonis Georgiadis, Minister of Labor and Social Security

“On the trip I made to Heraklion, Crete, on July 26, I met with the president of the Labor Center, who asked me to find a solution to the constant request to find a workforce. As I promised, the solution has been found and the applications for the pilot mobility program of 500 unemployed people from Western Macedonia to Crete, where there is indeed a great shortage of workers, are starting. It is an important initiative, which may not solve the huge labor problem facing our country, but it will certainly significantly help the situation. We are determined together with DYPA to undertake many corresponding initiatives to reduce unemployment rates in Greece, while simultaneously meeting the increased needs in labor force by regions of the country”.

Spyros Protopsaltis, commander of DYPA

“Responding to the needs of the primary sector for a seasonal workforce, DYPA is implementing an innovative pilot action of relocating unemployed jobseekers to rural enterprises looking for staff. We invite all those who are interested to apply and the program will start in the near future. DYPA continues to invest in active employment policies to reduce unemployment“.
