The CEO of the Hellenic Development Bank, Athina Hadjipetrou, had the opportunity to present the new financial instruments, focused on the implementation of the government policy, in the context of the development, housing, digital and "green" national strategy, in a series of parallel informative events, in TIF.
Financing tools from HDB
Ms Hadjipetrou explained that the Hellenic Development Bank-HDB will make the following four financial instruments available in the immediate future:
- «Development Loan Financial Instrument». In the framework of the new Development Law, an innovative financial tool is designed for micro and small businesses as well as newly established businesses that lack competent financial institutions. financial data for self-financing. With the guarantee of the Hellenic Development Bank, the inclusion of these companies in the new development law 4887/2022 is facilitated. Solutions are provided not only for long-term borrowing but also for grant bridge financing.
- «Green Guarantee Fund for Sustainable Development». The program supports investments focused on: renewable energy sources, energy conservation and the field of e-mobility infrastructure.
- «Digital Guarantee Fund for Sustainable Development». It supports the upgrading of digital infrastructures and the digital transformation solutions of businesses. And this in order to optimize their competitive advantage.
- "Agricultural Entrepreneurship Microloan Fund", for the financing of investment loans with small loans of up to 25,000 euros to agricultural and manufacturing enterprises. Additional 100% interest rate subsidy for two years and consultancy coverage.
In addition, HDB, since last June, has been implementing the new "Innovation Fund" which combines the provision of a guarantee on an investment loan with a grant on successful achievement of innovation and ESG criteria.
- The TIF stand was visited by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, government officials and the American Ambassador George Tsounis. The Hellenic Development Bank-HDB also presented the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) electronic platform. An innovative digital tool that aims to increase the number of businesses that will have access to finance.
The KYC platform acts as a link between businesses, HDB and the country's commercial banks. Businesses requesting funding submit the information and documents that certify their eligibility once. Together they submit their investment plan.
This information will be available simultaneously to all cooperating banks. Thus improving and speeding up the access procedures of all businesses to bank financing.
