Piraeus Bank expands the EQUALL programme in the field of Agri-Food and Agrotourism, with the Women in Agriculture programme. She is thus advancing in the training of women with the contribution of her Professors . American Farm School and the Alba Graduate Business School , The American College of Greece.
The 1st cycle of Women in Agriculture opens with the timing of International Women's Day. A day established by a decision of the UN General Assembly on December 18, 2007. It is celebrated every year on October 15.
Recognizing the contribution of women to agricultural production and rural society in general, as well as the challenges they face, Piraeus Bank aims to support them to claim equal access to employment and agricultural business activity.
Women in Agriculture is a horizontal training, experiential learning and networking program. It is addressed to all women who work or intend to work professionally in agri-food / agri-tourism. Offered free of charge to women over 18 years of age.
The Women in Agriculture program gives women in the agricultural sector the opportunity to:
- To acquire the necessary business skills in order to successfully apply the practices of modern agricultural activity in their businesses.
- To expand their possibilities of access to funding sources, learning the ways of raising capital, but also the preparation and presentation of their business plans.
- To develop digital skills, which will contribute to the promotion of their agricultural enterprises.
- To be empowered by the acquisition of knowledge/experience, through the eyes of the mentor, at the moment of transition to the next cognitive stage - Acquire knowledge, when you need it.
- To network so that they receive support every step of the way.
- To receive assessment for the development of three horizontal skills: i) Critical thinking, ii) Creativity, iii) Problem solving.
Women in Agriculture lasts three months and covers two strands:
1) Training, which has been designed by the professors of the American Agricultural School and the Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece, of a total duration of 16-18 hours. The topics to be covered concern the digital transformation of the agricultural sector, entrepreneurship and the transition to green agriculture. In addition, sectoral training will be conducted, with topics depending on the interests and field of activity of the participants.
2) Experiential learning and networking, which includes mentoring and live sessions, where for each training module, participants will be able to develop discussions with professors and experienced professionals through the 100mentors application. In this way, they will receive personalized guidance in their field of activity and have the opportunity to develop useful horizontal skills. At the same time, there will be live sessions with farmers who will present best practices of their cultivation/business in collaboration with the American College of Agriculture to the participants.
