PES: Extension until 7/1/22 to the program of 3,400 new jobs for the just transition to the post-lignite era

Extension until Friday, January 7, 2022, the deadline for the submission of online business applications for the a new labour subsidy programme for the recruitment of 3,400 unemployed OAED workers, formerly employed in enterprises of the Regions of Western Macedonia and Peloponnese affected by the effects of de-lignification, into full-time jobs.

Who is targeted by the extension of the programme

The program, With a total budget of EUR 48 million. euros, is addressed to businesses operating in the Region of Western Macedonia and in the Municipalities of Megalopolis, Tripoli, Gortynia, Sparta, Oichalia and Kalamata.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries are unemployed people registered in the OAED register of Employment Promotion Centers (KPA2) based in areas of competence of the P.E. Kozani (KPA2 Kozani and Ptolemaida), P.E. Florina (KPA2 Florina and Amyntaio), as well as KPA2 Tripoli (for registered unemployed of the Municipality of Megalopolis), for a period of at least one month.

The duration of the program is 12 to 18 months, the rate salary and contribution subsidy varies between 75 and 100%, while the subsidy amount varies between 700 - 933 euros per month and 8,397 - 16,794 euros in total, depending on the category of the unemployed and the branch of the company that worked. The subsidy for wage and non-wage costs includes holiday gifts and holiday allowance.

Businesses interested in participating in the program submit their application exclusively electronically through the State Aid Information System (SAIS) of Ministry of Development & Investments, at the following address: http://www.ependyseis.gr/mis. Then, PES's employment advisers indicate candidates to the company, according to the specialty and the required qualifications and the company chooses among the candidates for the recruitment.

The program is part of the "social package" of PES actions, total budget of 107 million euros, for the just transition to the post-lignite era, with the aim of effectively supporting employment and social cohesion.
