DYPA: The work experience program exceeds 6,000 recruitments

The Job Experience Program for 10,000 unemployed young people, aged 18-29, in the regions of Attica and Central Macedonia, exceeded 6,000 recruitments. In particular, 3,200 young people in Central Macedonia and 2,800 young people in Attica have already started working. Applications for the remaining 4,000 posts continue to be submitted at a high rate.

The new 7-month program aims to boost young people’s access to the labor market by subsidizing the acquisition of work experience. DYPA will pay the beneficiaries a monthly allowance equal to the legal minimum net wage (with full social security contributions). The proportion of holiday bonuses and holiday allowance is also paid.

The beneficiaries are 10,000 unemployed young people, aged 18-29 years old, graduates of at least compulsory education. They must be registered in the unemployment registers of the Employment Promotion Centers of the DYPA located in the areas of competence of the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia.

Companies interested in participating are included in the programme according to the number of staff they employ, as follows:

Employers with Staff up toMaximum number of beneficiaries
3 persons1
4-9 persons2
10-19 persons3
20-30 persons5
31-50 persons8
over 50 persons20% of the staff employed, up to 20

A necessary condition is that the company has not made a reduction in staff due to the termination of an employment contract in the 3 months prior to the submission of the application.

Businesses interested in participating should submit an online application through the DYPA website. It shall specify the speciality and educational level of the post.

ΔΥΠΑ confirms that the undertaking business fulfils the conditions. The job counsellors nominate candidates according to the qualifications required for the vacancy. Then the company selects the beneficiary and they sign a cooperation agreement.

The project, with a total budget of 68.000.000 euros, is co-funded by the Greek State and the European Social Fund / Youth Employment Initiative. It is part of the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014/20”.
