Ανακαίνιση Κατοικίας / Housing Renovation: Platform Opens for Vacant Homes – Up to €36,000

The application platform for the Ανακαίνιση Κατοικίας / Housing Renovation program, part of the 2021-2027 National Strategic Reference Framework (ESPA), opened on Thursday, October 29, initially for vacant residences, according to press reports. The program has a total budget of €500 million and aims to renovate and lightly upgrade the energy efficiency of properties so they can return to use as primary residences, either through owner-occupancy or rental.

Applications are submitted exclusively online, through the platform anakainisi.tee.gov.gr, until January 11, 2027, according to the same reports. The platform currently operates only for vacant homes, and it has not been reported when it will open for other property categories.

Terms of the Subsidy

The grant covers between 70% and 95% of eligible costs, with a maximum amount of €36,000 for renovation and energy upgrade works. In addition, extra funding of up to €2,500 is planned for support services for beneficiaries, as reported in the press. The subsidy rate varies depending on each property’s eligible criteria.

Conditions for Application

A necessary condition for submitting an application is that the applicant holds an Eligibility Certificate (Βεβαίωση Επιλεξιμότητας) for the property. The program falls under the 2021-2027 ESPA framework and concerns properties currently out of use, with the aim of returning them to the housing market, either for owner-occupancy or for rental.
