Activation of a new flexible payment method for Non-Employees (Self-Employed, Self-Employed, Farmers) via IRIS

From Wednesday, January 15, 2025, a new, modern way to pay contributions is implemented for Non-Employed insured through the IRIS system (Interbanking Retail Instant Payments Settlement). The service provides the insured with the possibility to pay their contributions via e-banking or mobile banking.

Payments through IRIS offer significant benefits such as instant real-time transactions, security through encryption to protect data. The service is supported by many banks and applications in Greece, making it easy and affordable for users.

The administration of e-EFKA, in collaboration with the executives of the Agency and with the full support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance, consistently continues the work of digital transformation. Its goal remains to provide a more efficient, friendly and accessible service for citizens, while at the same time achieving a reduction in administrative costs.

It is noted that this new initiative comes as a continuation of the very positive response received by previous payment options, such as the IRIS system and online DIAS, for employers and debtors.

It is reminded that the IRIS system has already become mandatory for freelancers and within 2025 it will also be mandatory for all businesses. The number of users is 3.4 million for IRIS among citizens and 560,000 for freelancers.
