New training and certification program for the unemployed and business subsidy for their employment
A new double-subsidized training and labor market integration program for 10,000 unemployed is starting, implemented by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family with implementing agency DYPA, according to a related announcement.
The program, with a total budget of 151.6 million euros, is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with the financing of the European Union–NextGeneration EU, with the aim of prevention and dealing with unemployment, through upgrading the professional knowledge and skills of the unemployed, as well as placing them in subsidized employment positions.
In two phases the program
The program will develop in two phases:
- Upgrading skills and training through continuing professional training programs, as well as their mandatory certification. The on-the-job training will last 80 hours and will cover high-demand sectors such as office workers and salespeople. The amount of the training subsidy (educational allowance) for the total of 80 hours amounts to 400 euros.
- In the recruitment of beneficiaries who complete the training program and receive certification, for twelve (12) months, in full-time positions through the grant of private sector enterprises.
The beneficiaries of the Program are unemployed, registered in the DYPA Digital Register, who belong to all categories of EEE beneficiaries (single-person households, multi-person households and homeless).
The beneficiary is required to complete the training and pass the certification exams in order to receive the full training allowance. A necessary condition for the payment of the entire educational allowance to the beneficiary is his employment in a subsidized job position (in case of passing the exams) within the framework of the employment action of this project.
