Public: 19,000 recruitments are coming in 2025 – Ministries and agencies in detail
The number of 19,181 regular staff recruitments in the Government for 2025 per ministry and agency was approved by the cabinet of the government at its last meeting.
The distribution of the new positions in the Public was the result of a difficult equation which the responsible Deputy Minister of the Interior Vivi Charalambogianni was asked to “solve”, as for the final result he had to reconcile the requests of the ministries, the government priorities, the observance of the budgetary restrictions and especially the 1:1 ratio, i.e. one recruitment for every one departure.
From the analysis of the data it appears that emphasis is placed on strengthening the National Social Security, the Armed Forces, the Security Forces, Local Government and Social Welfare. Approved also the maximum allowed number of temporary staff recruitment (Private Fixed Term/project lease), which is 22,344 and has remained stable for the last three years.
It is noted that the recruitment planning for the next year, is a continuation of the 91,819 recruitments in the State that have been approved for the years 2020 to 2024, with the result that the approved recruitments for the five years 2000-2025 have risen to 111,000.
