“GAIA” tariff: Until June 26, applications for PPC’s rural tariff

June 26 is the deadline for membership in agricultural “GAIA” tariff of PPC, with a fixed price for the first 2 years, from 0.093 euros per kilowatt hour.

PPC’s GAIA agricultural products are aimed exclusively at customers with an agricultural status. With a total term of 10 years, the new agricultural products offer a fixed price per kilowatt hour for the first two years. At the end of the first two years and for the next eight, a fixed price is provided for 1/3 of the consumption, while for the rest of the consumption he has the option of choosing a tariff from those offered during that period.

The right to join the GAIA products is for the owners of Low or Medium Voltage rural electricity connections, for which there are no overdue debts or they have settled debts of accounts issued up to 31/12/2023. In case of unsettled overdue debts for accounts until 12/31/2023, those interested should first join the Debt Settlement Program suitable for them in up to 120 interest-free installments, offered by PPC, and then apply for inclusion in the appropriate GAIA tariff.

Those interested can be informed about PPC’s GAIA agricultural products, as well as the conditions for inclusion on the relevant page at dei.gr or free at 800-500-7000.

The application for inclusion in GAIA agricultural products can be made on the specially designed PPC platform and should be completed by June 26, 2024.

The prices on the “GAIA” invoice

Indicatively, the prices that have already been announced for the total consumption of the first 2 years of application of the “GAIA” tariff are as follows:

  • Owners of rural electricity connections who belong to cooperative schemes or practice contract farming without arrears: 9.3 cents per kilowatt hour
  • Other holders of rural electricity connections without arrears: 9.8 cents per kilowatt hour
  • Owners of rural electricity connections belonging to cooperative schemes or practicing contract farming with overdue debts: 10.5 cents per kilowatt hour
  • Other holders of rural electricity connections in arrears: 11 cents per kilowatt hour

For the remaining 8 years for 1/3 of the consumption of the above beneficiaries, the price is uniform and is set at 9 cents per kilowatt hour.

For the remaining consumption (2/3) the owners of rural electricity connections have no obligation and can obtain it freely from the market (freely from the same or another provider). The relevant contracts are fixed, with a single withdrawal clause, amounting to 70 euros, in the event that the contract is terminated before its expiry by a natural person. In the event that the termination of the supply contract with the “GAIA” invoice is carried out before the expiration of its term of validity by a legal entity, the withdrawal clause is formulated in the context of the concluded contract between the two parties, observing proportionality in relation to the time of termination and the remaining contractual term.
