Farmer’s Card: Valid until September – What are the possibilities for producers
From yesterday, Wednesday, April 24, until September, the Farmer“ card will be activated, which will be available to producers (farmers and breeders); recipients of agricultural subsidies, if they wish, only with the interested party’s application to the cooperating bank that maintains their account.
The features
Through the “Farmer’s Card” the beneficiary is given the possibility to make purchases from businesses which are included in the categories of those who market products related to meeting the agricultural needs of producers (agricultural consumables, such as seeds, medicines, fertilizers, animal feed, veterinary drugs, additives animal feed, fuel for driving tractors, agricultural electricity, spare parts – agricultural machinery workshop), but also to pay off his debts to certified bodies submitting a Single Aid Declaration.
Through the “Farmer’s Card” the possibility is also provided to producers to pay:
- their current debts towards ELGA, OGA and the State
- expenses for issuing and using a trademark
- as well as the cost of applying for agricultural aid
The Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis, in his statements, mentions the following: “With coordinated actions, we are activating this year, faster than last year, the “Farmer’s Card” in order for each producer to face the acute problems that have been created due to the successive crises. The energy and climate crisis and geostrategic instability bring increased production costs to the agricultural world.
We take advantage of every possibility that exists to be constantly on the side of the Greek farmer but also to facilitate the production process in the primary sector“.
