“Photovoltaics in the field”: The platform is open for applications – It concerns all professional farmers

The platform for submitting applications for the program of the Ministry of Environment and Energy “Photovoltaics in the field”, budget of 30 million euros.

The relevant proclamation for its launch was signed by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thodoros Skylakakis, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Mrs. Alexandra Sdoukou and by the Deputy Minister of National of Economy & Finance, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis.

Through the program, the installation of solar power plants up to 50kW is supported by:

  • professionals farmers
  • special status farmers
  • farm businesses

For this purpose they will have to have an active agricultural supply and be registered in the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings during the current year, in order to become energy independent. In practice this means that by producing their own “green” energy, they will reduce their energy costs.

Beneficiaries will receive a 30% subsidy and up to 350 euros per kW, with the amount of the subsidy not being added to the minor subsidies received by farmers.

It is clarified that for power requests up to 30kW, net metering is applied, while for requests from 31kW to 50kW consumption is offset, which coincides with the production of the photovoltaic plant, and as long as there is excess production is compensated with a fixed price by the Administrator of Renewable Energy Sources and Guarantees of Origin (DAPEEP – as a simple self-producer).

A basic condition for submitting an application to the program is that the beneficiary has not started any work or order for the photovoltaic station.

If it has more than one rural electricity supply, it has the possibility of submitting an application for the financing of a photovoltaic plant of up to 50kW for each of them.

Applications, for the purpose of financing, in the framework of the program: “Photovoltaic in the field”, submitted until May 15, 2024, via an electronic platform (https://pvstegi.gov.gr), using the codes TAXISNET.

In the program the applications will be ranked based on two priority groups and until the total budget is covered:

  • Priority group A: Photovoltaics up to 10.8kW
  • B’ Priority Group: Photovoltaics over 10.8kW and up to 50kW

The applications in each group will be ranked based on the chronological order of their submission, while the program will also include runners-up.

This initiative is implemented with the support of the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
