DYPA: 5,000 new subsidized jobs in the unemployed 55+ job program
The successful employment program unemployed aged 55 and older of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) expands with 5,000 new offered positions, with a total budget of 117 million euros, in the context of active employment policies to support the older unemployed who face significant obstacles in their reintegration into the labor market.
After the coverage of the 15,000 places that were initially allocated, the DYPA program is expanded and improved with the following arrangements:
- Potential beneficiaries are now defined as all unemployed people aged 55 and over and the condition of long-term registered unemployment (12+ months) that was in force until now is removed
- Beneficiaries who have exceeded the age limit of 67 and have not established a pension right can participate
- All 7 unified Decentralized Administrations are included in the program as beneficiaries
The programme has already been strengthened and improved twice and now with the increase of 5,000 places, it will have provided a total of 20,000 jobs.
The duration of the program is 12 months, with the possibility of extension for another 12 months and the monthly subsidy amounts to 75% of the salary and insurance contributions, up to 750 euros per month.
The program involves agency from a wide range of public administration. Indicatively, it should be mentioned that a number of Public Law Legal Entities (such as Municipalities, Regions, Insurance Funds, Hospitals, Social Welfare Centers, etc.) have been incorporated throughout the territory.
