EnvolveXL: Applications to the new acceleration program for startups until January 10, 2024

Envolve Entrepreneurship (https://envolveglobal.org), the non-profit organization supporting startups and innovation with headquarters in Greece and international activity, announces the launch of EnvolveXL, a new program to accelerate enterprises, with the aim of promoting the digital and sustainable transition of the Greek economy.

Within the next 5 years, EnvolveXL will support a total of 100 startups that have been founded by Greek teams around the world or are based in Greece. In each cycle, the program will welcome 20 teams who will participate in an intensive acceleration program, which will include, among others:

  • support from the concept design stage to the investment stage
  • specially designed seminars
  • consulting services
  • networking and promotional events
  • mentoring
  • as well as financing opportunities

The program, which is funded and supported by Libra Philanthropies (https://libraphilanthropies.org/), has as its ultimate goal the transformation of the Greek economy into an international model of innovation. The EnvolveXL application platform will remain open until January 10, 2024, at the following link https://envolveglobal.org/envolveXL/apply.

“We are proud to be at the heart of the startup ecosystem, all these years, and we are committed to supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs who have the potential to change the world,” said Alexandros Nousias, managing director of Envolve Entrepreneurship. “As the ecosystem of start-ups in Greece evolves, we must ensure its continuous support and the availability of more and more resources. Envolve’s vision is to be a hub of innovation, through which leaders will emerge who will play a catalytic role in tomorrow’s economy. We are looking for 100 dynamic teams who, acting as catalysts, will bring about change through new economic models and fundamentally change the way businesses operate worldwide, focusing on digital transition and sustainability.”

In 2012 the Hellenic Entrepreneurship Award (HEA) was founded, which was renamed to Envolve Award Greece in 2018, forming the central (flagship) program of Envolve Entrepreneurship. As one of the longest running start-up support organizations in Greece, Envolve has supported through EAG 37 innovative businesses from 20 different sectors of the economy, offering financing that exceeds 6,000,000 euros, while their valuation reaches 860,000,000 euros. In this way, it has contributed to the development of some of the most successful start-up companies of the Greek innovation ecosystem, such as:

  • the Blueground
  • RTsafe
  • Apifon
  • the PD Neurotechnology
  • the Ferryhopper
  • Carge
  • CollegeLink

and others, which have created more than 2,000 jobs.

Envolve develops founders and their teams and ignites innovation through three pillars:

  • Founders Support
  • Training and Upskilling and
  • Business Innovation

with the implementation of dozens of programs in Greece and Europe.

Being at the side of thousands of entrepreneurs for more than 11 years, Envolve is committed to addressing the challenges of the future and constantly increasing its impact.

EnvolveXL will operate in the form of a hybrid model, inspired by accelerator programs around the world, bringing together best practices in different industries and an extensive international network of contacts (Industry Experts). EnvolveXL takes an approach that puts the founding team, the human factor at the center, while at the same time focusing on the commercial success of the business.

The EnvolveXL Program

The program consists of four stages:

  • validation of the business idea or service/product (product validation)
  • finalization of the business model (business validation)
  • validation of the commercial model and the market (market validation)
  • achieving investment readiness

Condition for participation in the program and permanent access to Envolve’s support network, is the contribution to the program and by extension to the ecosystem, offering up to 1% of the company’s shares. EnvolveXL also offers micro-investment and additional funding opportunities to selected groups through the “Investing for Good” approach.

Specifically, EnvolveXL offers 265,000 euros per year, including 65,000 euros for micro-investments in the 5 best emerging startups. Also, up to 200,000 euros will be invested in up to three companies from each cycle of the acceleration program, to support their development worldwide. With this approach, EnvolveXL will provide teams with significant support to enter a growth stage, network in international markets and attract investors. The possible goodwill that will arise from the capital invested in successful start-ups will be used by Envolve to strengthen its work.

“We are pleased to extend our support to the development of Envolve and look forward to the transformative impact that its new flagship program, EnvolveXL, will bring,” said Rosanna Mortoglou, CEO of Libra Philanthropies, a founding sponsor of the program. “Envolve is firmly at the forefront of entrepreneurship in Greece and now, leveraging more than ten years of experience and the global network it has created, the team responds to the particular requirements of modern entrepreneurs. We are deeply committed to our work to strengthen the entrepreneurs of the country, towards a successful course”.
