Thousands of businesses<\/a> are waiting for notifications of the refundable advance.<\/strong> This is to find out whether or not they will repay all the state aid<\/strong> they received during the pandemic period.<\/p>\n\n

The deadline for the one-off repayment<\/strong> of the state aid from those who did not comply with the conditions for receiving the repayable advance is normally ended Tuesday 31 January<\/strong>. However, so far, the AADE<\/a> has not completed sending the new notes<\/strong> to businesses.<\/p>\n\n

According to reports, this delay<\/strong> is due to<\/strong> the problems<\/strong> identified in several cases. Problems which are not addressed even by the latest decision of the Ministry of Finance<\/a><\/strong>. This modified<\/strong> the conditions<\/strong> for the refundable advance and the staff<\/strong> retention<\/strong> clause<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

This decision was adopted in order to cover<\/strong> companies<\/strong> with formal<\/strong> infringements<\/strong>. The rationale was to save<\/strong> them from a one-off<\/strong> and sharp<\/strong> repayment<\/strong> of 100 %<\/strong> of the financial assistance<\/strong>. Competent agents of the Ministry of Finance now leave open the possibility<\/strong> of new<\/strong> corrections<\/strong>. They are even talking about extending<\/strong> the deadline<\/strong> for the one-off<\/strong> repayment<\/strong> of the refundable advance. This measure will apply to those who ultimately did not comply<\/strong> with the conditions<\/strong> of the refundable advance.<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, the verification of the validity<\/strong> or otherwise of the supporting documents sent by businesses until 30 December 2022<\/strong> is completed. By the end of the month, AADE<\/strong> will send the tax clearance notice to the personal account<\/strong> of each business and professional. Then the payment of the repayable part<\/strong> of the state loan will start.<\/p>\n\n

\u0395\u03c0\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03c1\u03b5\u03c0\u03c4\u03ad\u03b1 \u03c0\u03c1\u03bf\u03ba\u03b1\u03c4\u03b1\u03b2\u03bf\u03bb\u03ae –<\/strong> \u0388\u03bb\u03b5\u03b3\u03c7\u03bf\u03c2 \u03b5\u03bd\u03c3\u03c4\u03ac\u03c3\u03b5\u03c9\u03bd<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

At the same time, under the microscope of the auditors<\/strong> of the Ministry of Finance are thousands of applications and objections of businesses<\/strong> and professionals<\/strong> affected by the pandemic<\/strong> but “cut”<\/strong> from the aid granted through the seven cycles of refundable advance.<\/p>\n\n

The General Directorate of Financial Services is expected to have completed<\/strong> its review<\/strong> of the applications by 28 February 2023<\/strong>. The completion of the reviews will give the green light for the payment of government loans<\/strong> to those who qualify. Those who receive government assistance will be required to repay<\/strong> the repayable advance in 96 interest-free installments beginning in June 2023<\/strong>. The amounts<\/strong> will be “trimmed”<\/strong> by up to 75%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

It should be noted that the current framework provides that<\/strong> if the review<\/strong> reveals the validity of the request, the file is sent by the competent DGOY<\/a> to the Hellenic Revenue Authority for review.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Subsequently, the AADE carries out a new automated verification of the conditions, taking into account only the data declared by the company to the tax administration<\/strong>, without prejudice to the provisions of these decisions on cross-checks and tax audits. If the automated check reveals that the undertaking is entitled to the aid<\/strong>, the Directorate-General for Taxes and Levies draws up an aggregated and detailed list<\/strong> of the beneficiaries and the amount to which they are entitled.
