Specifically, ThEA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with <strong>Plug &amp; Play Tech Center<\/strong> to <strong>support<\/strong> Greek <strong>startups<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The MoU was signed by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, <strong>Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou<\/strong> and <strong>Natalia Olson-Urteko<\/strong>, Director of Government Partnerships of Plug &amp; Play.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C0;&#x3BF;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;-&#x3B5;&#x3AF;&#x3BD;&#x3B1;&#x3B9;-&#x3B7;-plug-play\"><strong>What is Plug &amp; Play<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Silicon Valley-based<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/plugplay.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Plug &amp; Play<\/a><\/strong> operates <strong>one of the world&#8217;s leading<\/strong> <strong>innovation<\/strong> <strong>platforms<\/strong>. It operates in several locations around the globe. It specializes in <strong>identifying <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start-up SMEs<\/a><\/strong> around the world. It then <strong>connects<\/strong> them with some of the <strong>largest companies<\/strong> through <strong>innovative<\/strong> <strong>programs<\/strong> and partnerships. Its network consists of:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>50,000 start-ups<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>500+ leading global companies<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>including hundreds of leading venture capital firms<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>universities and government agencies in many sectors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>The main objective<\/strong> of the <strong>MoU with the THEA<\/strong> is <strong>networking with the global innovation ecosystem<\/strong> on issues related to the transfer of know-how and the exploitation of innovative ideas. The aim is to make <strong>innovation open<\/strong> to anyone and anywhere. The expected outcomes of this collaboration will include:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>the creation of new products and production processes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the improvement of production<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the inculcation of the concept of entrepreneurship among scientific research professionals<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>as well as the creation of new jobs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>THEA<\/strong> <strong>a springboard for new partnerships<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Mrs. Efraimoglou stressed that the <strong>signing of the Memorandum is a springboard for a series of international partnerships and synergies of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry,<\/strong> to support innovative <strong>start-up entrepreneurship<\/strong> and its interconnection with the global innovation ecosystem. At the same time, he said that <strong>the networking and collaborations of the incubator will continue and expand<\/strong> with other innovation bodies in Greece. The aim is to make innovation a catalyst and <strong>driving force for the creation of better paid jobs<\/strong>, for the development of exportable and competitive products and services that <strong>ultimately aim to improve the quality of life of citizens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>For her part, Mrs Olsson-Urteko said:<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;This is a great opportunity for Plug and Play to strengthen our global presence and <strong>connect<\/strong> with the <strong>best<\/strong> <strong>startups<\/strong> in <strong>Greece<\/strong>.
