The announcement was made by <strong>Jean-No\u00ebl Barrot<\/strong>, <strong>French Deputy Minister<\/strong> in charge of <strong>digital switchover and telecommunications.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>As stated in the relevant announcement of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gr.ambafrance.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">French Embassy in Athens<\/a><\/strong>, this is the <strong>happy conclusion of many months of collective work<\/strong>. The aim is to connect the actors of the Greek-French start-up ecosystem who wish to participate in a structure that will unite local innovation actors.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C4;&#x3CC;&#x3BD;&#x3C9;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;-&#x3C4;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;-&#x3B5;&#x3C0;&#x3B5;&#x3BD;&#x3B4;&#x3CD;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;-&#x3BC;&#x3AD;&#x3C3;&#x3C9;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;-french-tech-athens\"><strong>\u03a4\u03cc\u03bd\u03c9\u03c3\u03b7 \u03c4\u03c9\u03bd \u03b5\u03c0\u03b5\u03bd\u03b4\u03cd\u03c3\u03b5\u03c9\u03bd<\/strong> <strong>\u03bc\u03ad\u03c3\u03c9 \u03c4\u03bf\u03c5 French Tech Athens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>The French Tech Athens community will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">startups<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>entrepreneurs<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>innovative businesses<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>investors who contribute to the development of the local ecosystem and the advancement of digital business<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Under the leadership of its president, the community will <strong>support<\/strong> the <strong>synergies<\/strong> between <strong>the technology ecosystems of Greece and France<\/strong>. It will act as a <strong>gateway<\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong> <strong>French<\/strong> <strong>startups<\/strong> <strong>that<\/strong> want to <strong>operate<\/strong> <strong>internationally<\/strong> through the <strong>Greek market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Opportunities in Greece<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The creation of the French Tech community in Athens comes at a <strong>time<\/strong> of <strong>rapid<\/strong> <strong>development<\/strong> of the <strong>technological ecosystem in Greece<\/strong>. The <strong>industry<\/strong> is estimated to have a market <strong>capitalization<\/strong> of <strong>\u20ac8 billion in 2022.<\/strong> In <strong>2012<\/strong> it <strong>was<\/strong> still at <strong>zero<\/strong>. The country&#8217;s <strong>attractiveness<\/strong> is clearly highlighted by <strong>the emergence of the first Greek &#8220;unicorns&#8221;<\/strong>, as well as by the investments of large multinationals in cloud and telecoms, or even the <strong>acquisition<\/strong> of <strong>49% of Viva Wallet by JP Morgan<\/strong>. The birth of the French Tech Athens community is part of this context and also embodies <strong>France<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>ambition<\/strong> to become one of the <strong>leading<\/strong> <strong>digital<\/strong> <strong>countries<\/strong> on a global scale.<\/p>\n\n<p>At a time when the technology sector in Greece is benefiting from the strong support of the public authorities, the French Ambassador to Greece, Patrick Maisonnave, thanked Mission French Tech, the group responsible for supporting the French start-up ecosystem, for <strong>approving<\/strong> the <strong>candidacy<\/strong> of the <strong>French Tech<\/strong> <strong>Athens<\/strong> <strong>community<\/strong>. The Ambassador also underlined the <strong>unwavering<\/strong> <strong>will<\/strong> of the <strong>entrepreneurs<\/strong>, as well as the continuous support of the services of the Embassy of France in Greece, who have worked for two years to <strong>establish<\/strong> this <strong>community<\/strong>, which is young, <strong>dynamic<\/strong> and <strong>ready<\/strong> to <strong>grow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The French Tech Athens community is part of the French Tech network.
