The payment of the 400-euro benefits to the long-term unemployed<\/strong> began today, as part of the emergency financial aid measures due to the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n

More specifically, as announced by the government spokesman St. Petsas, the schedule for the payment of benefits to professionals, businesses and the unemployed is as follows:<\/p>\n\n

OAED allowances<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

As early as this Monday, the payment of the EUR 400 allowance to the long-term unemployed<\/a><\/strong> began. By Friday afternoon, 73,000 long-term unemployed had registered on the platform, more than 43% of the beneficiaries. The special OAED platform for the long-term unemployed will remain open until May 3rd<\/p>\n\n

It is reminded that the automatic payment of 400 euros<\/strong> to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries will be made, after the confirmation or registration of the bank account details (IBAN) of the beneficiaries, which will be completed on May 3. As already announced by the OAED<\/a><\/strong>, the beneficiaries of the extraordinary financial assistance of 400 euros are estimated at 168,000 long-term unemployed<\/strong>. The beneficiaries are the registered unemployed who have acquired the status of long-term unemployed. That is, they exceeded 12 months of continuous registered unemployment, during the period from April 1, 2019 to April 16, 2020, remain unemployed until April 16, 2020 (date of publication of the JMD) and did not receive the long-term unemployment benefit.<\/p>\n\n
