{"id":7568,"date":"2022-11-14T13:43:05","date_gmt":"2022-11-14T13:43:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-espa.summerize.io\/equifund-its-successful-course-continues-in-2021-27\/"},"modified":"2023-08-11T11:00:18","modified_gmt":"2023-08-11T11:00:18","slug":"equifund-its-successful-course-continues-in-2021-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/equifund-its-successful-course-continues-in-2021-27\/","title":{"rendered":"EquiFund: Its successful course continues in 2021\/27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/equifund-h-epityhimenh-tou-poreia-synehizetai-kai-to-2021-27-1024x538.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>One of the most successful financial tools<\/strong> of the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship &amp; Innovation (EPAnEK) is undoubtedly the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.antagonistikotita.gr\/epanek\/news.asp?id=209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Venture Capital Fund<\/a><\/strong> (VENTURE Capital Fund) or otherwise <strong>EquiFund.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>EquiFund<\/strong> is an investment platform, <strong>which facilitates the <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">access of start-ups<\/a> and small and medium-sized enterprises mainly to capital<\/strong> through Financial Intermediaries (EXAs), which are investment funds &#8211; venture capital companies (Funds).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C7;&#x3C1;&#x3B7;&#x3BC;&#x3B1;&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3B4;&#x3CC;&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;-&#x3B3;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;-equifund\"><strong>Funding<\/strong> <strong>for the EquiFund<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>EquiFund<\/strong> platform is funded <strong>with EUR 200 million. euro from EPANEK<\/strong>, with <strong>60 million euro from the <a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/institutions-law-budget\/institutions-and-bodies\/search-all-eu-institutions-and-bodies\/european-investment-bank-eib_el\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Investment Fund<\/a><\/strong> (European Investment Fund\/EIF), with <strong>32 million euro from the <a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/institutions-law-budget\/institutions-and-bodies\/search-all-eu-institutions-and-bodies\/european-investment-bank-eib_el\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Investment Bank<\/a><\/strong> -resources of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/EL\/legal-content\/summary\/european-fund-for-strategic-investments.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Fund for Strategic Investments<\/a><\/strong> (EFSI-Junker Plan) and institutional and private investors.<\/p>\n\n<p>By leveraging additional funds from institutional and retail investors, <strong>The initiative has exceeded EUR 500 million. euro of available resources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3B4;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;&#x3C7;&#x3B5;&#x3AF;&#x3C1;&#x3B9;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;\"><strong>Management<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Equifund is <strong>managed by the EIF.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3C4;&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3BF;&#x3BC;&#x3AE;-&#x3C0;&#x3CC;&#x3C1;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;\"><strong>Resource allocation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>EquiFund<\/strong>&#8216;s available resources are allocated to three different entry windows, <strong>where investment funds accept proposals depending on the maturity and size of the investment project.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Innovation window.<\/strong> 4 Funds are active with commitments of \u20ac 130.6 million. (of which \u20ac102.2 million is EPANEK resources)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Early Stage window.<\/strong> 2 Funds are active with commitments of \u20ac 82.1 million. (of which EUR 35.8 million are EPANEK resources)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Growth window.<\/strong> 3 Funds with pledges of \u20ac288.1 million euro (of which EUR 52 million are EPANEK resources)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>By September 2021 they have been funded <strong>115 enterprises with EUR 211 million euros<\/strong>. Of this EUR 107.2 million, it is not enough. Euro is the public resources of EPANEK.<\/p>\n\n<p>These enterprises <strong>employ 3,658 people<\/strong>, a significant proportion of whom are highly trained and know-how.<\/p>\n\n<p>Investment projects supported by <strong>EquiFund<\/strong> are characterised by <strong>innovation<\/strong> and <strong>high growth potential.<\/strong> Many of the businesses that have been funded by the platform have emerged <strong>as highly successful investments<\/strong>. These investments attracted additional capital from Greek and foreign private investors.<\/p>\n\n<p>EquiFund has been described as a <strong>successful tool<\/strong> by the European Union. For this reason, Fi-Compass, which is the special information platform of the European Commission that promotes the Union&#8217;s financial instruments, made tributes <strong>in 2019 and 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The results achieved by <strong>EquiFund<\/strong> created <strong>the conditions<\/strong> for deciding on <strong>the continuation of the financial instrument for the &#8220;Competitiveness 2021-2027&#8221; Programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espa.io\/epidotisi\/arrange-a-call\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most successful financial tools of the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship &amp; Innovation (EPAnEK) is undoubtedly the Venture Capital Fund (VENTURE Capital Fund) or otherwise EquiFund.
