{"id":7057,"date":"2022-11-08T13:19:14","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T13:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-espa.summerize.io\/what-are-the-new-support-measures-announced-for-catering\/"},"modified":"2023-07-31T13:53:56","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T13:53:56","slug":"what-are-the-new-support-measures-announced-for-catering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/what-are-the-new-support-measures-announced-for-catering\/","title":{"rendered":"What are the new support measures announced for catering"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/poia-einai-ta-nea-metra-sthrikshs-pou-anakoinothikan-gia-thn-estiash-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>New support measures<\/strong> for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/hospitality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">catering businesses<\/a><\/strong> were announced by the Deputy Minister of Finance Theodoros Skylakakis, <strong>during an event<\/strong> of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uhc.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Central Union of Chambers of Greece<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; which was held online &#8211; on the topic of &#8220;pandemic and catering&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>The President of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece, Mr. Yiannis Hadjitheodosiou who undertook this initiative, together with the president of GSEVEE and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poese.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Panhellenic Federation of Restaurant and Allied Professions Mr. Giorgos Kavvathas<\/a><\/strong> had the opportunity <strong>to brief the Deputy Minister of Finance on the problems of the sector<\/strong>, Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis who was a guest of the teleconference.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C4;&#x3B1;-&#x3BD;&#x3AD;&#x3B1;-&#x3BC;&#x3AD;&#x3C4;&#x3C1;&#x3B1;-&#x3C3;&#x3C4;&#x3AE;&#x3C1;&#x3B9;&#x3BE;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3C0;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;-&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3B1;&#x3BA;&#x3BF;&#x3AF;&#x3BD;&#x3C9;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;-&#x3BF;-&#x3C5;&#x3C6;&#x3C5;&#x3C0;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;&#x3C1;&#x3B3;&#x3CC;&#x3C2;\"><strong>The new support measures announced by the Secretary of State<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Mr Th. Skylakakis, for his part, <strong>stressed that the country&#8217;s economic policy is specific,<\/strong> last year&#8217;s budget said it was closed, while he estimated that <strong>2022 will be a very good year.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Regarding the problems faced by businesses in catering, he announced that in cooperation with the competent Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. K. Skreka are considering a new &#8220;Exoikonomo&#8221; program exclusively for small and medium-sized enterprises amounting to \u20ac 450 million. euro.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>There will also be a corresponding programme amounting to EUR 450 million. euro in cooperation with the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. K. Pierrakakis for digital investments in SMEs.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As for the needs for the region of Northern Evia that has been affected by natural disasters, he announced a six-month extension for the cheques that the debtors must pay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The president of the JICS welcomed the measures announced by the deputy finance minister, saying: &#8220;It <strong>is in the interest of the government to receive less every month from each debtor<\/strong>, than not to receive at all because he will have closed down.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>All the presidents of the Chambers who spoke, expressed to the Deputy Minister of Finance in the darkest colors, t<strong>he economic situation prevailing in the<\/strong> <strong>catering industry<\/strong> and its consequences due to the health crisis. The <strong>shortage of staff<\/strong>, the <strong>need for measures to support businesses to avoid closure<\/strong>, <strong>rent subsidies<\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">energy equipment<\/a><\/strong>but also <strong>development programmes through <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/aid_type\/nsrf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NSRF<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minfin.gr\/tameio-anakampses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Fund<\/strong> <strong>Recovery Fund<\/strong><\/a> <strong>is a one-way street.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3BF;&#x3B9;-&#x3C0;&#x3C1;&#x3BF;&#x3C4;&#x3AC;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;&#x3B9;&#x3C2;-&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3BA;&#x3B5;&#x3B5;&#x3B5;\"><strong>The JICS&#8217;s proposals<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The President of the JICS, Mr. Yiannis Hadjitheodosiou pointed out that it is absolutely necessary <strong>to immediately enhance the liquidity of the affected companies<\/strong> and submitted specific proposals to support these businesses such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Exemption of rent for businesses during the pandemic<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Non-reimbursement of the repayable advance received by businesses<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Increase in the subsidy rate of energy costs<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduction of VAT on product prices<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Increase in doses, from 72 to 120, for affected businesses<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3B1;&#x3BE;&#x3B9;&#x3BF;&#x3C0;&#x3BF;&#x3AF;&#x3B7;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;-&#x3C4;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;-&#x3C0;&#x3CC;&#x3C1;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;-&#x3C4;&#x3B1;&#x3BC;&#x3B5;&#x3AF;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;-&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3AC;&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3BC;&#x3C8;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3B3;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;-&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3BD;-&#x3B5;&#x3C3;&#x3C4;&#x3AF;&#x3B1;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;\"><strong>Leveraging the resources of the Recovery Fund to focus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>On the same wavelength, the president of GSEVEE, Mr. George Kavvathas who pointed out that comparatively <strong>The catering sector lost around \u20ac1 billion. euros<\/strong> compared to the first quarter of 2020, while according to <strong>Bank of Greece data<\/strong>, these businesses <strong>will need a lot of help to get back on their feet<\/strong>.
