That is, of European companies, with immediate scaling prospects. Businesses that can play <strong>a future global leadership<\/strong> role <strong>in new technologies.<\/strong> This joint declaration was <strong>signed<\/strong> in the framework of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/en\/french-foreign-policy\/europe\/the-french-presidency-of-the-council-of-the-european-union\/article\/building-europe-s-digital-sovereignty-7-feb-22\" rel=\"nofollow\">&#8220;Building Europ<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/en\/french-foreign-policy\/europe\/the-french-presidency-of-the-council-of-the-european-union\/article\/building-europe-s-digital-sovereignty-7-feb-22\">e<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diplomatie.gouv.fr\/en\/french-foreign-policy\/europe\/the-french-presidency-of-the-council-of-the-european-union\/article\/building-europe-s-digital-sovereignty-7-feb-22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">&#8216;s Digital Sovereignty<\/a> \/ Scale-Up Europe&#8221;<\/strong> conference. The conference <strong>was organized in Paris<\/strong> by the French EU Presidency.<\/p>\n\n<p>To <strong>keep up<\/strong> with the global technological race, the European Union has decided that it must <strong>strengthen<\/strong> this <strong>dynamic ecosystem of <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start-ups<\/a><\/strong> during their scaling-up phase as well. These businesses <strong>play a catalytic role<\/strong> <strong>in the digital and sustainable transformation of the European economies<\/strong> of the member states.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Ministry of Development and Investment, together with the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/mindigital.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Digital Governance<\/a>\n<\/strong> and the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minfin.gr\/web\/guest\/epikoinonia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ministry of Finance<\/a>\n<\/strong>are supporting this joint effort. Our country <strong>is going to participate<\/strong> in this European initiative, with <strong>capital of 100 to 200 million euros<\/strong>. The funds will be allocated through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hdb.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hellenic Development Investment Bank<\/a><\/strong> (EATE, formerly TANEO). They <strong>will then be invested through investment schemes<\/strong> in such innovative <strong>businesses.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The final decisions on the mechanism and way of investing the resources<\/strong> are expected to be finalized by <strong>September 30, 2022<\/strong> through a round of consultations. Due to <strong>its pan-European role<\/strong>, the <strong>Scale-Up Initiative<\/strong> will <strong>remain an open initiative<\/strong> for <strong>any other EU Member State<\/strong> that decides to join in the future.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3B3;&#x3B9;&#x3AC;&#x3BD;&#x3BD;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3C4;&#x3C3;&#x3B1;&#x3BA;&#x3AF;&#x3C1;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3C5;&#x3C6;&#x3C5;&#x3C0;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;&#x3C1;&#x3B3;&#x3CC;&#x3C2;-&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3AC;&#x3C0;&#x3C4;&#x3C5;&#x3BE;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3B9;-&#x3B5;&#x3C0;&#x3B5;&#x3BD;&#x3B4;&#x3CD;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;&#x3C9;&#x3BD;-&#x3B3;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;-scale-up-initiative\"><strong>Yannis Tsakiris, Deputy Minister of State for Development and Investment for the Scale-Up Initiative<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>&#8220;Today is <strong>a great day for Europe.<\/strong> An important initiative is undertaken that can <strong>transform into a global technology champion<\/strong>.
