{"id":6931,"date":"2022-11-03T14:27:06","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T14:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-espa.summerize.io\/employers-in-greece-are-restrained-in-their-hiring-prospects\/"},"modified":"2023-09-09T15:06:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-09T15:06:51","slug":"employers-in-greece-are-restrained-in-their-hiring-prospects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/employers-in-greece-are-restrained-in-their-hiring-prospects\/","title":{"rendered":"Employers in Greece are restrained in their hiring prospects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/sygkratimenoi-oi-egodotes-stin-ellada-stis-prooptikes-proslipseon-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Employers are cautious on their hiring outlook in the current quarter, as estimated as a result of the Overall Employment Outlook (NEO), which stands at +3%, according to the findings of the  <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manpowergroup.gr\/ereyna-ton-prooptikon-apascholisis-gia-to-2o-trimino-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Employment Prospects Survey<\/a><\/strong> of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manpowergroup.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ManpowerGroup<\/a><\/strong>. 29% of employers expect an increase in the number of employees, 26% expect a decrease and 41% expect no change.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;The survey results suggest that employers will be cautious in the next quarter, and particularly cautious about their hiring plans,&#8221; comments  <strong>Charalambos Kazantzidis, CEO of ManpowerGroup Greece.<\/strong> ManpowerGroup&#8217;s Q2 2022 Employment Outlook survey was conducted from January 1 to February 7. A time period capturing the consequences of the 1st lockdown and the unprecedented recession of 2020, as recorded:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>&#8220;freezing&#8221; of investments<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>increase in inflation<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>imbalance in the supply-demand balance <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in the Energy sector<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>uncontrolled competition of the Regional natural gas markets<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>geopolitical &#8220;games&#8221; that shaped the difficult situation in relations between Russia and Ukraine<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C3;&#x3C5;&#x3B3;&#x3BA;&#x3C1;&#x3AF;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;&#x3B9;&#x3C2;-&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3AC;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3BC;&#x3AD;&#x3B1;-&#x3BF;&#x3B9;&#x3BA;&#x3BF;&#x3BD;&#x3BF;&#x3BC;&#x3B9;&#x3BA;&#x3AE;&#x3C2;-&#x3B4;&#x3C1;&#x3B1;&#x3C3;&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C1;&#x3B9;&#x3CC;&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C4;&#x3B1;&#x3C2;-&#x3C3;&#x3C5;&#x3B3;&#x3BA;&#x3C1;&#x3AF;&#x3C3;&#x3B5;&#x3B9;&#x3C2;-&#x3B1;&#x3BD;&#x3AC;-&#x3B3;&#x3B5;&#x3C9;&#x3B3;&#x3C1;&#x3B1;&#x3C6;&#x3B9;&#x3BA;&#x3AD;&#x3C2;-&#x3C0;&#x3B5;&#x3C1;&#x3B9;&#x3C6;&#x3AD;&#x3C1;&#x3B5;&#x3B9;&#x3B5;&#x3C2;\"><strong>Comparisons by Sector of Economic Activity \/ Comparisons by geographical regions<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p>Those looking for work in Greece <strong>should expect a decrease in hiring intention<\/strong>s for nine (9) out of eleven (11) sectors, compared to the last quarter. <strong>Industry\/Manufacturing<\/strong> is the best performing sector. Recruiters to record <strong>Overall Employment Outlook at +26%<\/strong>. Compared to the previous quarter, those seeking employment in this sector should expect a decrease in Total Employment Outlook of seven (7) percentage points and an increase of twenty (20) points compared to Q2 2021. For Q2 2022 the most <strong>weak market<\/strong> expected that of the sector of <strong>Construction.<\/strong> Recruiters to record <strong>Overall Employment Outlook at -13%<\/strong>. In this sector, a reduction in hiring intentions is expected by a large percentage (-41%) compared to the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n<p>In two (2) out of three (3) Greek geographical regions, the recruiters expect a decrease <strong>in recruitment during the next quarter.<\/strong> The region with <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>stronges<\/strong>t hiring intentions is the rest of Greece (as opposed to the Greater Attica Region and Northern Greece). Recruiters to Record +10% <strong>Overall Employment Prospects<\/strong>. Recording an overall employment outlook of -9%, recruiters in <strong>Northern Greece<\/strong> expect the lowest employment outlook in Q2 2022.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.moneyreview.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Capture_898.jpg?1647938314160\" alt=\"manpowergroup-sygkratimenoi-oi-ergodotes-stin-ellada-stis-prooptikes-proslipseon2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Based on seasonally adjusted analysis, <strong>the strongest hiring intentions<\/strong> for April through June are:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>in Brazil<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sweden<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>India <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Colombia<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mexico<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The <strong>weakest hiring activity in the coming quarter<\/strong> is expected by employers in:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Greece<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poland<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Japan<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Romania<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Taiwan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Compared to the previous quarter, employers report improved employment prospects in six (6) of the forty (40) countries and territories. <strong>Singapore<\/strong> and <strong>South Africa<\/strong> expect strengthened employment prospects while hiring intentions weaken in 33 out of 43 countries, notably <strong>Romania,<\/strong> <strong>Argentina<\/strong> and <strong>Turkey.<\/strong> In <strong>Belgium<\/strong> the intention remains unchanged at +34%, as in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n<p>An increase in the number of employees is expected in twenty-two (22) countries of the <strong>Europe, Middle East &amp; Africa (EMEA<\/strong>) region during the next quarter. <strong>Greek employers expect a slight reduction.<\/strong> In a quarterly analysis, the hiring intention weakens in twenty (20) countries, strengthens in two (2) and remains stable in <strong>Belgium.<\/strong> Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, <strong>the weakest labor markets<\/strong> are expected to be recorded in<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Greece<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Poland<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Romania<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Finally, hiring activity is expected to be strongest in <strong>Sweden,<\/strong> <strong>Belgium<\/strong> and the <strong>Netherlands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><a
