With the phrase: “We look forward to welcoming investments in Greek startups from the United Arab Emirates<\/strong>,” said Ahmed<\/strong> Mohamed<\/strong> Al<\/strong> Naqbi<\/strong>, CEO of Emirates Development Bank<\/a><\/strong> (EDB), has extended an invitation to investors and startups from Greece to join the United Arab Emirates<\/strong> (UAE), in Greek Innovation Business Forum<\/a>. <\/strong>An event held at the Sustainability<\/strong> District at Expo 2020 Dubai.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The forum was hosted by Christos Dimas<\/strong>, Deputy Minister of Development and Investment<\/strong> of Greece. The event was also attended by Ioannis Smyrlis<\/strong>, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Commissioner General of Greece.<\/p>\n\n

The Greek mission for Investments in Greek startups<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The Greek<\/strong> Innovation<\/strong> Business<\/strong> Forum<\/strong> was attended by a delegation of 16 Greek start-ups<\/strong>. The startups participate in the Elevate Greece<\/a><\/strong>, the official platform and leading support resource for the Greek startup ecosystem<\/strong>. Seven Greek research centres<\/strong> and one innovation and technology park<\/strong> also participated.<\/p>\n\n

The visit of the Greek delegation aimed to attract investments in Greek startups from the United Arab Emirates, Business<\/strong> Angels, Venture<\/strong> Capital<\/strong> Financiers , Startups, Incubators and Research Centers.<\/p>\n\n

Speaking about Innovation<\/strong> and Start-ups<\/a><\/strong>, Al Naqbi said the United Arab Emirates is committed to supporting entrepreneurs and startup Ecosystem. In this context, a number of initiatives<\/strong> have been launched to support this strategy.<\/p>\n\n

“At<\/strong> EDB,<\/strong> we are committed to playing a key role in enhancing the UAE’s economic attractiveness as a hub for pioneering and innovative industries,”<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n\n

In light of this strategy, Emirates<\/strong> Development<\/strong> Bank<\/strong> is committed to providing more than \u20ac7.3 billion euros<\/strong> (\u20ac30 billion Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) in financial support to startups and small and medium-sized enterprises<\/strong> (SMEs) in general, involved in priority industrial sectors, namely:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
