In addition, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/institutions-law-budget\/institutions-and-bodies\/search-all-eu-institutions-and-bodies\/european-investment-bank-eib_el\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Investment Bank Group<\/a><\/strong> (EIB) and <strong>InvestEU<\/strong> will assist. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>InvestEU Blue Economy<\/strong> initiative will make risk finance available <strong>totalling \u20ac1.5 billion euros<\/strong> for innovative and sustainable <strong>SMEs<\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start-ups<\/a><\/strong> in the <strong>blue economy<\/strong>, <strong>through financial intermediaries<\/strong>. The EIB <strong>will<\/strong> shortly publish the call for expressions of interest. The call builds on the success of the <strong>BlueInvest Fund<\/strong>, a pilot project under the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/el\/policies\/investment-plan\/strategic-investments-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Fund for Strategic Investments<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Commissioner Sinkevi\u010dius said: &#8220;The first phase of the platform accelerated innovation and investment <strong>sustainable technologies of blue economy<\/strong>. To deepen and expand these activities, we are now launching the second stage of BlueInvest.
