Over the next 3 to 5 years, EUR 3.3 billion will be mobilised. euro. The ultimate goal is to <strong>develop European &#8216;unicorns&#8217;.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>This partnership is <strong>part of the Scale-Up Europe initiative<\/strong>, which was launched in February 2022 in Paris. The initiative was conceived in the context of the <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/el\/council-eu\/presidency-council-eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">French Presidency of the Council of the European Union<\/a><\/strong>. The European <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\">\n  <strong>start-ups<\/strong>\n<\/a><strong> late-stage<\/strong> start-ups need <strong>very significant financial resources<\/strong> to support their development and internationalisation, to enable them to become global technology leaders.<\/p>\n\n<p>To support <strong>the appearance of European &#8220;unicorns&#8221;,<\/strong> <strong>France, Germany, Greece, Denmark and Finland,<\/strong> through their development agencies, decided <strong>join forces<\/strong> and work together to develop the European market for financial instruments they invest in <strong>in businesses that are in the growth stage.<\/strong> They signed a cooperation protocol providing for <strong>a joint investment effort of \u20ac3.3 billion euros over the next 3 to 5 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The five partners are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bpifrance (France)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>KfW Capital (Germany)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tesi (Finland)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the <a href=\"https:\/\/hdb.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Hellenic Development Investment Bank<\/a>, formerly TANEO<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>V\u00e6kstfonden \u2013 Danish Development Fund (Denmark)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This strategic partnership <strong>is also open to new partners<\/strong> among European development agencies.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C3;&#x3C4;&#x3CC;&#x3C7;&#x3BF;&#x3B9;-&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C2;-&#x3C0;&#x3C1;&#x3C9;&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3B2;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;&#x3BB;&#x3AF;&#x3B1;&#x3C2;-scale-up-europe\"><strong>Objectives of Scale-Up Europe<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The agreement provides for effective operational coordination at all levels of the investment process:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>regular exchanges on the flow of proposals<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>exchange of necessary diligence<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>joint communication in the context of co-investment activities<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>monitoring of investments, etc.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Each institution to remain <strong>autonomous and independent in its investment decisions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>It also aims to contribute to the development of the ecosystem by:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>exchange of best practices in investment selection<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>exchange of information and expertise<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>reports and publications on the state and performance of the European market and local markets, etc.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Through this agreement, the five partners confirmed their ambitions: <strong>the development of European technological champions,<\/strong> who will play a <strong>leading role<\/strong> in securing Europe&#8217;s economic and industrial future, ensuring its competitiveness and <strong>ensuring its technological sovereignty.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/calendly.com\/randevou-espa-news\/15min?month=2022-03\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of the &#8220;Growing Together&#8221; event in Athens, five development banks and investment institutions signed a cooperation protocol to increase the capacity of European growth capital funds to provide financing to technology companies based in the European Union (Scale-Up Europe).
