{"id":6252,"date":"2022-10-19T10:27:31","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T10:27:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-espa.summerize.io\/investeu-green-generation-fund-support-for-investments-in-sustainable-startups\/"},"modified":"2023-07-25T07:04:22","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T07:04:22","slug":"investeu-green-generation-fund-support-for-investments-in-sustainable-startups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/investeu-green-generation-fund-support-for-investments-in-sustainable-startups\/","title":{"rendered":"InvestEU: Green Generation Fund support for investments in sustainable startups"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/investeu-stirixi-tou-green-generation-fund-gia-ependyseis-se-viosimes-startups-2-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/el\/policies\/investment-plan\/strategic-investments-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Investment Fund<\/a><\/strong> (EIF), guaranteed by the European Union budget <strong>through the new<\/strong> <strong>InvestEU<\/strong> programme <strong>contributed 25 million euros to 100 million euros<\/strong>  raised by the new investment fund <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/next-generation-eu.europa.eu\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Green Generation EU<\/a>\n<\/strong>, which has been <strong>set up by women<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>KfW Capital provided 10 million euros<\/strong>. The Green Generation Fund <strong>invests<\/strong> <strong>exclusively<\/strong> in <strong>sustainable <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start-ups buissneses<\/a><\/strong> that are making significant progress:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>in reducing CO2 emissions<sub><\/sub><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the circular economy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the protection of the climate and resources<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/health-medication-social-welfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health promotion<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>biodiversity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C3;&#x3C4;&#x3CC;&#x3C7;&#x3BF;&#x3C2;-&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3B9;-&#x3C7;&#x3C1;&#x3B7;&#x3BC;&#x3B1;&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3B4;&#x3CC;&#x3C4;&#x3B7;&#x3C3;&#x3B7;\"><strong>Objective and funding<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>The aim is to strengthen the <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/food-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new food technology and green technology<\/a><\/strong> industries and contribute to the reduction of CO<sub>2<\/sub> in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/agriculture-farmers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">agriculture and food sectors<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>For example, <strong>funding<\/strong> is provided for <strong>the export of vegetable proteins and innovations in fermentation,<\/strong> as well as cell culture. In addition, <strong>solutions<\/strong> are considered for: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>reducing the use of preservatives in the food industry<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>more sustainable packaging and supply chains<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>solutions for carbon sequestration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>green technologies software<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>The EIB investment is one of the first in Germany under the new InvestEU programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Paolo Gentiloni<\/strong> said: &#8220;<strong>Ensuring a green transition will require sustained investment<\/strong>. This is where<strong> InvestEU<\/strong> &#8216;s contribution can be crucial. I am particularly pleased that the new InvestEU programme supports this investment by the EIB to <strong>support start-ups specialising in green technologies<\/strong>. This<strong> financing agreement will give them access to the funding<\/strong> they need to invest in innovation, expand and create jobs. I hope many more innovators will follow this example.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>InvestEU<\/strong> program provides the E.U. <strong>crucial long-term financing<\/strong>, leveraging significant private and public resources to support sustainable recovery. It also contributes <strong>to the mobilization of private investment<\/strong> for EU political priorities, such as the <strong>European Green Deal and the digital transition<\/strong>. The <strong>InvestEU<\/strong> fund is implemented through financial partners who will invest in projects with a guarantee of the EU budget, <strong>amounting to 26.2 billion euro.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The budget guarantee <strong>will fully support the implementing partners&#8217; investment<\/strong> projects, increase risk-taking capacity and thus <strong>will mobilize at least 372 billion euros in additional investments<\/strong>.
