Three two days of innovation, collaboration and social entrepreneurship<\/strong> will be organized in Athens<\/strong>, Thessaloniki<\/strong> and online<\/strong> and participants will compete for a cash prize of 2000 euros<\/strong> for the implementation of their idea in the Lifeskills Hackathons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

According to an announcement, as part of the Life Skills project, which is being run by the British Council with funding from the \n HSBC<\/a>\n<\/strong>, the British Council<\/a><\/strong> is inviting all young people<\/a> aged 18-30<\/strong> to take part in the event.<\/p>\n\n

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in one of the three two-day<\/strong> workshops that will be held in Athens, Thessaloniki and online<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Lifeskills Hackathons aim to be a participatory learning and planning process<\/strong>. Young people and social enterprises<\/strong> will work together to create new or improved products\/services, which will provide a knowledge, networking and skills development experience for young people <\/strong>. At the same time they will enhance the economic viability of the businesses and increase their social impact.<\/p>\n\n

What will happen during the Hackathons<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Five teams will be created in each hackathon, each of which will consist of a social enterprise and up to five young people.<\/strong> The teams will be formed on the first day and then with the support of<\/strong> mentors<\/strong> and coordinators<\/strong> will develop\/improve a product\/service<\/strong> that will help to address<\/strong> a societal<\/strong> challenge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

At the end of each hackathon, teams<\/strong> will be invited to present<\/strong> their proposals<\/strong> to the jury and compete for a cash prize of \u20ac2000<\/strong> to work further on implementing their proposal as a team. In addition, the young people who will be part of the winning team will win a gift card worth \u20ac100 from social enterprises<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The young people who will participate in the Lifeskills Hackathons<\/strong> will expand<\/strong> their their cognitive<\/strong> horizons<\/strong> through a interactive, educational, participatory process<\/strong>, which enables them to become familiar<\/strong> with the social economy and marketing<\/strong> and to develop<\/strong> skills<\/strong> related to teamwork<\/strong>, communication<\/strong>, time management<\/strong> and organisation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

– Athens – Friday 26 May, 13.00-20.00 & Saturday 27 May, 10.00-18.00<\/strong>– Online – Friday 9 June, 13.00-20.00 and Saturday 10 June, 10.00-18.00<\/strong>– Thessaloniki – Friday 16 June, 13.00-20.00 and Saturday 17 June, 10.00-18.00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
