Cooperation agreement with the \n Hellenic Development Bank SA<\/a>\n<\/strong> (HDB), to provide loans<\/strong> to farmers for investment and\/or working capital<\/strong>, co-financed by the \n Small Loans Fund for Rural Entrepreneurship<\/a>\n<\/strong>, signed by Piraeus Bank<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The Fund is managed by the HDB<\/strong>. The co-financed loans are for resources, which are fully funded by the European Union’s Recovery Fund<\/strong>. The funding is provided under the \n Rural Development Programme 2014\/20<\/a>\n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The purpose of<\/strong> the Fund is to finance loans to farmers and professionals in the primary sector (farmers<\/a> and livestock farmers<\/a>)<\/strong>, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises<\/strong> active in the production of agricultural products and food processing<\/strong>, with an agricultural end product (\n agricultural processing enterprises<\/a>\n<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n

The loans of the Small Loans Fund for Rural Entrepreneurship<\/strong> enable<\/strong> eligible borrowers, based on the<\/strong> business plan they submit, to cover<\/strong> both investment needs<\/strong> and operating costs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The loans range from \u20ac3,000 to \u20ac25,000 with a term of 2 to 5 years<\/strong>. For the first two years are interest-free<\/strong>, as the their<\/strong> interest rate<\/strong> is<\/strong> 100%<\/strong> subsidised<\/strong> by the Fund<\/strong>. For the remaining term<\/strong>, their interest rate will be reduced by 50%<\/strong> compared to the interest rate of similar loans, due to the interest-free contribution of the Fund.<\/p>\n\n

An additional advantage of these loans is the fact that no collateral is required to obtain them.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Eligible businesses\/farmer<\/strong> can also make use of technical and mentoring services<\/strong> through consultancy companies<\/strong> cooperating with<\/strong> the bank<\/strong>. For the technical and advisory support<\/strong> the enterprise\/farmer may receive an additional grant of EUR 300<\/strong> under this scheme.<\/p>\n\n
