{"id":22995,"date":"2023-07-11T12:49:51","date_gmt":"2023-07-11T12:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/espa.io\/uni-fund-ii-funds-of-eur-50-million-for-investments-in-startups-in-greece-and-europe\/"},"modified":"2023-07-11T12:49:51","modified_gmt":"2023-07-11T12:49:51","slug":"uni-fund-ii-funds-of-eur-50-million-for-investments-in-startups-in-greece-and-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/uni-fund-ii-funds-of-eur-50-million-for-investments-in-startups-in-greece-and-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"Uni.Fund II: Funds of EUR 50 million for investments in startups in Greece and Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/uni-fund-ii-kefalaia-ypsous-50-ekat-gia-ependyseis-se-startups-se-ellada-kai-eyropi-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The<strong>the first closing of Uni.Fund II at 50 million euros<\/strong>  to <strong>invest<\/strong> in <strong>approximately 20 <a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/c\/information-communications-technologies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">technology companies<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espa.io\/en\/business_type\/new-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">startups<\/a> and spin-offs<\/strong> from <strong>Greece<\/strong> and <strong>Europe<\/strong>, <strong>Uni.Fund<\/strong> announced. <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/uni.fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Uni.Fund I<\/a>\n<\/strong>, investing in stages:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>pre-seed<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>seed and  <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>late-seed\/series A<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3BF;&#x3B9;-&#x3B5;&#x3C0;&#x3B5;&#x3BD;&#x3B4;&#x3C5;&#x3C4;&#x3AD;&#x3C2;-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;&#x3C5;-uni-fund-ii\"><strong>The investors<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>Uni.Fund II<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Investors of<\/strong> <strong>Uni.Fund II<\/strong> include the following <strong>investors<\/strong> <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/hdbi.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Hellenic Development Investment Bank<\/a>\n<\/strong> (EATE), the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/el\/policies\/investment-plan\/strategic-investments-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">European Investment Fund<\/a>\n<\/strong> (EIF) and <strong>a large number of companies and private investors<\/strong> with strategic roles in the Greek entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and supporters of <strong>Uni.Fund I<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>With the second fund, the management team of  <strong>Uni.Fund<\/strong> continues to invest in  <strong>ambitious founders of innovative technology companies<\/strong> that are in the  <strong>pre-seed, seed and early Series A stage<\/strong>. Beyond investing in technology startups,  there is <strong>particular interest in<\/strong>  <strong>spin-off companies<\/strong> with commercially exploitable research products  <strong>from universities and research institutions<\/strong>. Retrieved from  the <strong>amount<\/strong> of the initial investment ranges between  <strong>200 thousand and 1.5 million. euros<\/strong>, while the investment strategy includes <strong>follow-on investments<\/strong> in companies that are commercially successful.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C4;&#x3BF;-uni-fund-i\"><strong>The Uni.Fund I<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>Uni.Fund I was launched in 2018<\/strong> with the  <strong>support of<\/strong> the  <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/equifund.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">EquiFund<\/a>\n<\/strong> and  <strong>private investors<\/strong>  and has completed  <strong>investments in 23 companies<\/strong>, which have  <strong>Sales<\/strong> to <strong>over 60 countries<\/strong>. The founding partners are Katerina Pramatari, Konstantinos Lavkas, Panos Lioulias, Stelios Eliakis and Sotiris Papantonopoulos-Mantopoulos. The Government&#8217;s primary objective is to regain investment grade status in the immediate future.
