Green Transformation of SMEs: Exhaustion of the available budget of the Action for Regions in Transition (Attica, South Aegean)

The finalising the submission of funding applications for the Action, Green Transformation of SMEs in Regions in Transition (Attica, South Aegean), is not possible due to exhaustion of the the available budget, increased by 20%. In addition, it is specified that it remains possible to process funding applications in the form of a project in the OPSKE. It should be noted that, depending on the progress of the evaluation process, the possibility of finalising funding applications may be reactivated, which will be the subject of a further announcement.

Green Transformation of SMEs

The Action encourages investment projects that aim to exploit and develop modern technologies, to upgrade the products and/or services produced and their activities in general, by rewarding actions that use modern technologies, infrastructure and best practices in energy upgrading and circular economy.

Action Budget: 300.000.000€

Minimum / maximum subsidised budget: 200.001€ up to 1.000.000€

Grant rate: up to 40% - except in special cases (Western Athens, East Attica, West Attica, Piraeus, Islands) that follow the EU Regulation 651/2014 (Article 14), for which the rates are described in detail in the Call.

The grant may receive an additional 10% if GREEN Green Transition costs are included up to 20% of the eligible budget of the investment project at the time of the investment project's inclusion. The above increased rate of grant will remain constant during the intermediate verification and payment stage.

The Public Expenditure is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and by National Participation. For greater complementarity, funding is provided using Common Support (Article 25 C(EU) 2021/1060) to finance interventions falling within the scope of ESF+.

  • 66.000.000€ for the Regions in Transition: Attica and South Aegean
  • 234.000.000€ for the Less Developed Regions:
    • North Aegean
    • Eastern Macedonia - Thrace
    • Central Macedonia
    • Epirus
    • Thessaly
    • West Greece
    • Crete
    • Western Macedonia
    • Ionian Islands
    • Central Greece
    • Peloponnese

Beneficiaries of the Green Transformation action

Beneficiaries: existing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which must, inter alia, before the date of online submission of the application for funding:

  • Have at least one (1) full closed management year
  • Be substantially active (Main Activity Code or as the Activity Code with the highest revenues) in one (1) eligible Activity Code included in Annex III ELIGIBLE ACTIVITY CODES WITH AID COST INCLUDED IN THE CAN. EU 1407/2013 (DE MINIMIS) or SELECTED ORGANISATIONS WITH AID Criteria of the CAN. EU 651/2014
  • They must have the eligible investment KAU(s) of Annex III SELECTED KAU(s) WITH ACCESSIBILITY OF THE CAN. EU 1407/2013 (DE MINIMIS) or SELECTED ORGANISATIONS WITH AID Criteria of the CAN. EU 651/2014
  • Have at least three (3) PTE of paid employment in the calendar year prior to the submission of the funding application

In addition, the investment project must not have commenced operations before the submission of the application for funding.

  • Means of transport (GREEN) - Mandatory electric
  • Salary costs of new employees - (new staff from 1 to 3 FTE)
  • Indirect costs

The starting date of eligibility of expenditure is the date of online submission of the application for funding.

Maximum duration of completion of the physical and financial object: Twenty-four (24) months from the date of adoption of the decision of inclusion.
