The online platform opened on Thursday 18 May https://exoikonomoneon.gov.gr of the Exco - Renovate for Youth   programme ,and will remain open until Friday 15 September.

This is a programme to support young people to renovate and upgrade the energy efficiency of their main home.

The programme is divided into two parts:

Α. The Economo

With a graduated subsidy from 45% to 90% of the amount of eligible energy interventions, while the remaining amount can be covered by an interest-free loan.

The amount of eligible expenditure can reach up to €22,500. The following are eligible:

• Replacement of frames
• thermal insulation
• heating - cooling systems
• hot water supply systems using renewable energy sources
• Smarthome home electrical appliances

Β. The Renovate

It provides a fixed 30% subsidy for up to €10,000 and includes renovation interventions such as:

• bathroom and kitchen renovation
• entrance door replacement
• replacement and repair of electrical and plumbing installations but also
• floors

A dwelling, to be considered eligible, must be a detached house or detached apartment and must:

• Exists legally
• It has not been deemed demolishable
• Used as main residence
• Be classified in an energy class lower than or equal to C, based on the Certificate
• Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

Beneficiaries - conditions of the Home Economics - Renovate for Youth programme

All young people born between 01/01/1984 and 31/12/2005, with a family income of up to 50,000 euros for joining the Exco programme and up to 20,000 euros for joining the Renovate programme, are eligible to participate in the Exco - Renovate for Youth programme .

The programme allows only one application per beneficiary.

In order to join the Renovate scheme, you must first join the ExoEconomy scheme.

Also, one application will be accepted for each eligible home. The aim of the programme is to to save primary energy by at least 30% and upgrading the energy class by at least three energy classes compared to the existing classification.

Beneficiaries must be owners of the property, with any lien and own it, or be full owners, or leaseholders and lease it, to be eligible for the Economy.

Beneficiaries must have a right of full ownership / usufruct of at least 50% in order to join the Renovate. Diminished ownership is excluded.

In order to participate in the Economize - Renovate for Youth programme, you must:

-have passwords to TAXISnet.

-in case there are pending "settlements" of arbitrary urban planning in the property, the inclusion in a legalization law should have preceded the submission of the application to the program. A later declaration will only be accepted if there is a discrepancy of up to 7 sq m. Also, the declaration for the Electronic Building Identity must be in final affiliation.

-before submitting the application to the programme, pending issues in the settlement of the income tax return (E1), the property rental statement (E2) or the property data declaration (E9) must have been settled. The power supply number should be indicated on all three forms.

- in case of acquisition of a property after 31/12/2021, the data in the E9 must have been amended beforehand.

-if there are multiple co-owners in an eligible home, only the co-owner who owns the home will be eligible to participate in the program. If the property is occupied by a third party, the co-owner will be entitled to participate in the programme with full ownership / usufruct in rem (not freehold).

-if there are more beneficiaries in the property, the consent of the joint tenants must be ensured and the power supply number must be correctly indicated in their E9.

- issue an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) for the property and formulate the proposal for energy saving interventions.
